The longest word in dictionary:

An invented long word ,which contains 45 letters and found in major dictionaries, is said to mean a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust.
It refers to a lung disease caused by inhaling dust like silicon and volcanic ash particles so minute that in order to see them a microscope which exceeds the ordinary is needed.

It is considered to be the longest word in dictionary.

1930s: a word invented (probably by Everett M. Smith, president of the National Puzzlers' League) in imitation of very long medical terms.
